Global Ethnic Foods Department

Enabling the world to enjoy new dietary lifestyles via optimum use of our global network width=

Our Global Ethnic Foods Department consists of two departmental groups. Group 1 of the Department purchases products for Nishimoto Trading Company of America Ltd.; Group 2 handles sales and marketing in regions outside of the U.S., including Europe, China, East Asia, and South America.

The worldwide popularity of Japanese food has gone beyond ranking as a mere fad and is now clearly part of the common diet for many. For instance sushi, not previously a part of the diet in Europe and North America, is now widely available in those regions. In the same vein, other Japanese delicacies such as Japanese confectioneries and Japanese sakes are now exported overseas.

Our Global Ethnic Foods Department supplies regions around the world with quality Japanese foods, and consumption of these foods has been gaining momentum over many years, particularly in North America. The global trend toward healthier foods, evident especially in recent years, has sparked the popularity of seafood and processed soybean products such as tofu. In 2006, the Global Ethnic Foods Department recorded a year-on-year sales increase of 150% and has been steadily expanding its business activities.

The strength of our department goes beyond export operations and lies in our ability to accurately anticipate national and regional food-related demand. Our comprehensive business model brings together planning and development based on market demand, and our sales operations utilize our global networks to the fullest. We procure food ingredients from Japan as well as China, Southeast Asia, and regions throughout the world, and export via China to, primarily, North America, but also to Europe, China, Southeast Asia, and South America. Another of our major strengths is that we successfully build global networks that are unprecedented among foodstuff trading companies.
